PROFILE

Artist, Geoffrey Wolfson (1980) specializes in ink drawing and sound design. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, he moved to Fukuoka, Japan in 2002.

Creating under the name Noh1, he skillfully weaves traditional and contemporary culture of Japan into a microcosm of originality. Drawing inspiration from ancient tales and folklore, Geoffrey (Noh1) transforms traditional mythology into fresh narratives, deepening Japan’s cultural landscape.

Other interests include anthropology, hip-hop, 80s-90s arcade games, soundtrack composition, as well as a host of traditional Japanese disciplines (bonsai, tea ceremony, calligraphy, Noh theatre, pottery, shrine architecture, and more).

アーティスト、ジェフリー・ウォルフソン（1980年）は、ペン／インク画とサウンドデザインを専門とする。コロラド州デンバーで生まれ育ち、2002年に福岡に移住。

Noh1の名で創作活動を行い、日本の伝統文化と現代文化を巧みに織り交ぜ、独創的な小宇宙を作り上げている。ジェフリー（Noh1）は、昔話や民話からインスピレーションを得て、伝統的な物語を新鮮な物語に変え、日本の文化的景観を深めている。

その他、人類学、ヒップホップ、80年代から90年代のアーケードゲーム、サウンドトラックの作曲、日本の伝統的な分野（盆栽、茶道、書道、能楽、陶芸、神社建築など）にも興味を持っている。
